Experimental protocol, local-first

Every change
has a reason.Keep it.

Version control for autonomous coding agents. Record the intent, the operations, the resulting state, and the evidence that backs it up.

  • No Git required
  • One Go binary
  • Immutable, content-addressed states

The development record

More context. Less reconstruction.

A commit tells you what changed. AIP keeps why it changed, what exactly was done, and what was proven about the result, as linked objects.

Try the first workflow

  1. Intent

    Add greeting endpoint

The goal, the constraints, the reason. Recorded before the change.

    Keep existing routes compatible
  2. Operation

    Observe workspace changes

The exact transformation of the project.

    + main.go+ main_test.go

  3. State

    A candidate, preserved

Content-addressed and immutable. Inspect it, compare it, materialize it.

  4. Evidence

    PASSgo test ./...

What was tested, executed against this exact state.

Work where you already work

Your editor. Your tools. A better record.

Files stay ordinary files. Agents use structured CLI output. Alternative solutions become sibling states in a shared history, each with its own evidence.

The agent workflow

hello-projectTerminal
# Initialize a normal directory$ aip init # Capture the purpose before the change$ aip intent create \ --title "Add greeting endpoint" \ --goal "Expose GET /hello returning JSON" # Edit files, then preserve the candidate$ aip snapshot --intent <intent-id> # Test the immutable state$ aip evaluate HEAD -- go test ./...

AIPHub Planned

Hosted public and private repositories, candidate comparison and shared evidence. Not available yet.

Roadmap

Start with one repository.

Install the CLI, run aip init, and snapshot your first intent. Your files stay where they are.
